SENIOR RETAIL SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN/TRAINER

The Retail Systems Tech/Trainer must possess a solid working knowledge of PC hardware and all Microsoft operating system platforms. The individual hired for this position will also be required to obtain certifications and in-depth knowledge of the installation and configuration of various retail software/hardware systems. This position also requires effectively communicating both fundamental and sophisticated retail information system concepts as well as enthusiastically assisting clients in achieving their business goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have a solid working experience with Microsoft Windows 2K/XP/2003.
  • Must have solid networking background including: TCP/IP, Peer-to-Peer LANs, Server based LANs, Remote access, VPNs, Firewalls.
  • Exceptional time-management skills.
  • Develop a working knowledge of legacy, current and new retail software products installed at our clients’ sites. Training will be provided.
  • Instruct clients on how to create, modify and maintain their installed retail software.
  • Prepare training lab details prior to the class to ensure the environment maximizes learning.
  • Administer appropriate assessment tools, maintain and submit accurate records.
  • Identify clients having difficulty and a plan of corrective action.
  • Strong customer relation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quick learner with a team-player attitude.
  • Up to 75% of working hours traveling – Northeast, United States and possible International.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • 4-year degree majoring in Information Technology
  • MCP/MCSA or MCSE a plus
  • DB Apps – Oracle/SQL a plus
  • MS Visual Studio .NET a plus
  • PC – hardware component level troubleshooting
  • Previous training or teaching experience
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles
  • Desire to coach and mentor clients and co-workers
  • Retail PC- based hardware/software knowledge a plus. Training will be provided.
