Question

Cash Drawer Warning 913 Error Message

Every now and then, when I open the cash drawer first thing in the morning, I get this error:
"Warning 913 - the cash drawer is not accessible. It may be locked by another application. Do you wish to continue?"

I opened the OPOS program to check the config.
Device Name: Multi_AP
DeviceDesc: Y Cable Cash Drawer Port A (Parallel TM Printer)
Service: PROGRA~1\OPOS\Epson2\SoDrw10.dll
Version:1.5.4

I found something rather odd. Under Communications Settings, LPT Port Setting is LPT1 and Port is being used by POSPrinter\TM-99lllP. So I checked the POSPrinter LPT Port Setting and is is also using port LPT1.

Is that why the cash drawer is giving me the error and won't open?

Answer

Yes. Assign the windows printer to LPT2. Currently the software believes the cash drawer is attached to LPT1. Most likely that is the conflict. Also check is to assure that the OPOS printer is being shared. This can be verified by going to the following settings:
SO Manager/File/Configuration/Options/POS Options. Then select "Share the OPOS printer."

Question
What is the SQL username for RMS?

I am new to Microsoft Dynamics RMS and installed the software on single stand-alone machine for sample store prior to joining computer to domain and making live. I can't connect to the database (included SQL 2005) because I do not know the default username. I know the password and try to connect to local but keep getting denied. Is the default username the logged in user, admin, administrator computer name, etc.?

Answer

Use login "sa" to connect to your database, use the password you entered when you installed the application (it prompts you to enter, then confirm this password). The default password is blank.
