Instructions for MA Tax-Free Days
Attention Retail Pro Users:
After holding its first-ever sales tax holiday last year, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will make it a two-day event this year on the weekend of August 13 and 14. Single items costing $2,500.00 or less is exempt from sales tax.
For that weekend, you will need to implement changes to your Retail Pro system preferences, for all stores that are in MA. You can download specific instructions for versions 6, 7 and 8 by using the links at the bottom of this page. If you are a multi-store user, J.D. Associates recommends you make the changes to each individual store in your organization instead of trying to poll them.
Remember, this is a two-day event and changes to the preferences will need to be set back when the weekend is over!
