Retail Pro® Tips
MA Tax-Free Weekend Info & Instructions:
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is having its annual tax-free days. The dates of tax-free shopping are the weekend of August 12–13. Single items costing $2,500.00 or less are exempt from sales tax.
For those days, you will need to implement changes to your Retail Pro system preferences, for all stores that are in MA. You can download specific instructions for versions 6, 7 and 8 by using the links at the bottom of this page. If you are a multi-store user, J.D. Associates recommends you make the changes to each individual store in your organization instead of trying to poll them.
Remember, this is a 2 day event and changes to the preferences will need to be set back when the weekend is over!

CT Tax-Free Week Info & Instructions:
Connecticut is having its fourth annual tax-free week. The dates of tax-free shopping are August 20–26. During that week, clothing and footwear items costing less than $300.00 are exempt from sales tax. Normally all clothing and footwear over $50.00 is taxed at the 6 percent rate.
For that week, you will need to implement changes to your Retail Pro system preferences, for all stores that are in CT. You can download specific instructions for versions 6, 7 and 8 by using the links at the bottom of this page. If you are a multi-store user, J.D. Associates recommends you make the changes to each individual store in your organization instead of trying to poll them.
Remember, this is a 1 week event and changes to the preferences will need to be set back when the week is over!
