How To Do a Hard Reset on Your Symbol PDA
SPT1550: The reset button is located on the back of the unit, Hold down the power button on the front of the PDA, while using a paperclip hold in the reset button on the back of the PDA for about 5-10 seconds, Release the reset button while still holding in the power button. The PDA should turn on and ask you if you would like to Erase All Data? Select yes. Then the PDA will prompt you to set the Date/Time/Timezone.
SPT1880: The reset button is located on the back of the unit on the inside of the battery door, Hold down the power button on the front of the PDA, while using the stylus supplied with the unit to hold down the reset button on the back of the PDA for 5-10 seconds, Release the reset button while still holding in the power button, The PDA should turn on and ask you if you would like to Erase All Data? Select yes. Then the PDA will prompt you to set the Date/Time/Timezone.
