Regularly, an owner or employee should choose a VPI (value-producing item in Wal-Mart speak) and endorse it by giving it special attention in some way. Have signage made or make special pins for employees to wear; do something to draw attention to that item being your personal favorite. Customers will ask about it, try it and customers will buy it. And they’ll talk about it to their friends. Word-of-mouth marketing at its best.
