• Who We Are: Don Capman and John Deery

    Don Capman, President

    Don Capman has been a partner/owner of J.D. Associates since 1992. Having owned home electronics stores in the 1980s, he has extensive, first-hand retail experience and expertise. As President of J.D. Associates, Don is responsible for assembling “best of breed” point of sale solutions for all levels of specialty retail.  Don is also responsible for leading the best team of industry-certified professionals whose job it is to ensure that delivery and continued high-quality customer satisfaction are always the number-one goal.

    Prior to his retail experience, Don and his wife Bonnie operated a large human services agency in Central Massachusetts.  This agency served thousands of developmentally disabled children and adults as well as troubled teens and their families.   Simultaneously they founded a private psychology and counseling practice in Worcester, MA.

    Don is currently President of Habitat for Humanity, North Central Massachusetts.

    A self-described “duffer,” Don can often be seen on the golf course in all kinds of weather.  When not on the golf course, you will find him jogging in the hills of Central Massachusetts or in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.

    John Deery, Treasurer

    John Deery founded J.D. Associates in 1989 because of his previous business experience as a retail store owner.  As an early adopter of retail point of sale solutions in his own stores, John knows first-hand the challenges retailers face when trying to track inventory without using a retail point of sale solution. He also knows what it's like to have a problem during critical retail sales periods with no one to call for help.

    J.D. Associates was started to help retailers not only find the right point of sale system, but also to install, service and support if a problem arises. Since the beginning, J.D. Associates has been known as the folks to call - day or night.

    John has spent 30 years in direct sales with over 20 years working side-by-side with retailers helping them find the right retail point of sale solutions to manage their business. He’s best known for being able to immediately assess the source of a retailer’s inventory and other management problems and determine which point of sale solution will help them better manage  their retail business and run it more profitably.  He’s the force behind all sales at J.D. Associates and works closely with Don Capman, his business partner, on business strategy and direction.
