Gift and Award Card

This is a gift and award card solution for Mains and Remotes. Normally, the gift and award card information is NOT SHARED AMONG STORES.

However, if the end-user has a persistent Internet connection and can map a network drive to a system at the Retail Pro Main location from all Remotes, then it is possible to share card data among stores.

The Gift Card operation is the same as our Single Store Gift Card solution. The user can issue gift cards as a tender type or using a jackpot row in inventory. Gift Cards are redeemed using a Tender. When cards are redeemed the card number and new balance can be printed on the receipt. The modification includes a lookup function to determine the current value of a card.

For Award Cards, we have added a simple Customer Loyalty feature to issue Award (or Loyalty) cards that can be used as gift cards to tender receipts. The amount of the award is based on a percentage of the receipt subtotal or a percentage of selected items on the receipt.

Although award value is only issued if a customer is on the receipt, the cashier can control whether or not to issue (or add value to) a card. Award Cards are not tied to specific customers and the loyalty value is NOT stored in the customer record.

There is also a Gift Card Maintenance function that allows the user to deactivate a card or mark a card as lost or stolen. If a Bill To Customer is placed on the Receipt when a card is issued, the card is tied to the Bill To Customer (for lookup purposes only).
